I’ve just realised I have four more blogs and it’ll be Christmas!!
I can’t believe that just a week ago, I was reflecting on an awesome weekend with Open Doors, and about the challenges set before me at Church. It feels like a lifetime ago… What I’d like to share with you this week, though, is just as exciting as last weeks – we’ve begun to see a shift within Church, something God promised a long time ago.
The team have been praying for a long time to see a harvest from our work. For 5 years, on and off, there’s been people on the Cathedral Green, praying with teenagers. Since then, the Church has not seen much growth (other than of people like me, who join the team!), but we know God does use what we do; every so often we’ll hear a story from another Church, saying one of their young people only started coming after being prayed for by us.
Now that’s cool.
Even with this being awesome, we’ve been called to run a Church – not an outreach project for the cities’ Churches. So for a long time, people have been praying for Unlimited itself, and asking God when we’ll see a harvest… and it felt as though God was saying this is the season: this autumn and winter time. This was a lot easier to accept and get excited about when it was the summer – it’ll happen later, we don’t need to worry. But now it’s here, and I’m desperate to see the prayers enter into reality!
Yesterday at Church was fantastic, some of the legends that we met during Unlimited Goes Large (see video below) came along to a Toastie Sunday and seemed to enjoy it. These guys are beginning to tackle some big questions and are engaging with us as a Church. Could this be the start of something new at Unlimited? Could this be a season of growth, of harvest?
Also during this week, I put together the video from ‘goes large’:
In case you couldn’t make the link between photo and blog topic, the photo is Christmas trees being harvested :L
Yes it could Jack!!!
Big blessings!
